Metal ruled most of the catwalk runways this Spring. It's a look you must at least try once (if only just out of curiosity). Here's how to perfect the futuristic look without looking cheap or trashy.
- Start with a non-shiny eyeshadow all over the eyelid first. Choose a shadow you normally use and know looks good on you. Apply that shadow either in the crease, or just along the lash line or go for all around the eye for a smoky effect.
- You can opt for a metallic pencil to accentuate the lash line, or just layer the metallic shadow over the base you already applied for a full on effect. This look can be quite striking so make sure it is suitable for where you are going. It is definitely not an office look but more of a party look. For an office look: eyeline the eyes with a metallic pencil and then retouch the eyes with a full on gold or silver eyeshadow for afterhours drinks.
- Do apply a little shimmer in the inner corner of the eye. We mean a little, too much shimmer can give your eyes a tired look.
- Combine metallic eyes with a nude lipstick and the rest of your makeup should be kept to a minimum. It's the eyes that are being accentuated here. For a really strong effect, try false lashes for a powerfully striking effect.
